If you like a low maintenance canoe then replacing your existing seats with a blow-molded polyethylene seat is the way to go. The seat requires no maintenance and will serve you comfortably for many, many years. The seat depression allows a more solid hold and helps keep the novice in the center of the canoe, creating more stability. Bow seat shown. This seat is standard on our Guide 147, Guide 160, Discovery 158, Discovery 169 and Osprey Angler canoes.

The seats are high quality, just a little more difficult to install than I expected. Would recommend

Assembly
I haven't put the seat in my canoe because there were no instructions included with the seat. I have multiple screws plastic and metal with no clear idea which goes where to attach the backrest to the seat.

Comfort
Do believe these seats with the adjustable back rests are going to do just fine when I get the canoe in water. It is still winter in Colorado. Easy to install on my 25 year old Discovery 158. Was able to reuse one of the two bolt holes.
